Operating modes and functions

JUNG offers various possibilities for lighting areas of a comfortable hotel according to need. The movement-dependent lighting control offers two application areas that have fundamental differences:

motion detectors and ceiling observers are designed above all to prevent dangerous situations in the dark. Transitional zones such as stairways and corridors are energetically lit sensibly when a movement is registered. In the bathroom, a motion detector ensures a discrete indirect light at night without having to search for the light switch in the dark. After a programmed run-on time, the light switches itself off automatically.

Presence detectors are used for spaces where people remain for a longer period and a constant light is required. In a hotel, this is in public areas such as meeting rooms or the car park. In the housekeeping area, presence detectors make the work processes easier for the employees. The light can be controlled manually, but it is not necessary to remember to switch the light off when. for example, the utility room is vacated. In all cases, motion detectors and presence detectors optimise resource-saving energy use.

In this operating mode, switching the load occurs dependant on heat movement and ambient brightness. The lighting cannot be switched off using a switch, push-button or wireless networking.

The load is switched depending on heat movement and ambient brightness. The lighting can be switched off using a satellite insert 3-wire, a push-button or wireless networking. Switching back on with motion detection only happens after the end of the run-on time. With dimming inserts, you can individually control the movement-dependent lighting. The presence detector is set conveniently by smartphone with Bluetooth® in the Clever Config app.

With this function you can prevent the motion detector from detecting no movement and switching off the lighting for low-movement presence. Using the Clever Config app or with a switch on the device, you can prevent lights in quiet rooms in the spa area being switched off.

The load remains switched on until manual deactivation for a specified period of 0.5 to 5 hours. In contrast to "continuous ON", the function is automatically ended and switches to automatic operation ("AUTO" function).

For film shows or projector presentations, a sudden switching on of the light is a preventable disruption. With this function, the load is switched off until the function is switched off via the Clever Config app or with a switch on the device.

In contrast to continuous OFF, with this function the load is automatically switched on after a specified period of time. The device switches to automatic operation ("AUTO" function).

If presence is detected, in pulse operation the load is always only activated briefly (approx. 0.5 seconds). Lasting motion detection results in certain time intervals for repetition of the switch-on pulse. Spaces not constantly in use, such as bathroom or guest toilets in restaurant areas are effectively lit when in use in this way.

This function ensures that the lighting is not immediately switched off at the end of the motion detection and after the run-on time ends. The switch insert warns with three blinks every 10 seconds. The dimming insert regulates the light and signals that the light will soon switch off. The person in the room can prevent the switching off of the run-on time by moving. While looking for all the utensils needed for housekeeping, the employees are not then surprised when the light suddenly goes out in a windowless storeroom.

The alarm operation function is available during closed times for the hotel. If the hotel is closed during the operator's holiday, the automatic light can be programmed with the alarm operation function in all rooms or just remote rooms. Unwanted heat movements lead to the light being switched on and burglars can be deterred. Surrounding residents can also be alerted to a break-in in this way.

The convenience function switches the light in hotels between two brightness values. For this, the device must be combined with a dimming insert. If the corridor or stairway is permanently minimally lit for better orientation, the motion detector switches to a stored higher brightness value if heat movement is detected. Once the run-on time has ended, the lighting is dimmed back to the brightness of the orientation light.

This function ensures that in programmable time periods the light is switched on with a lower brightness when movement is detected. For this, the device must be combined with a dimming insert.

Combined with a dimming insert and the satellite unit 2-wire centre plate (on terminal 1), the motion detector measures the sum of artificial light and daylight. A desired brightness value is switched when a movement is detected and the brightness goes below the set switching threshold. Independent of the amount of daylight, the brightness in the room remains constant. This convenient illumination secures the best light, for example in meeting rooms, and leads to the greatest possible energy saving.

A schedule for the different functions can be stored for every weekday.

If the motion detector switches the light off after an expired run-on time, a short locking time ensures that the movement notification is supressed. This prevents the motion detector from registering the cooling lamps in the monitoring area as a heat movement and immediately switching them back on. The motion detectors automatically determine the locking time between 0.3 and 3 seconds.
